Welcome to Kakaluihun Farmers Development Association (KaFDA)

We are a community-driven grassroots movement dedicated to transforming rural agriculture, feeding families, and empowering youth in Sierra Leone.

KaFDA is registered with the Bo District Council and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS).

Our mission is simple but bold: to build lasting food security in Lugbu Chiefdom, Bo District — one field, one family at a time.

  • Over 5 hectares of rice farmland are cultivated

  • 50+ youth and adults employed

  • New storage and drying facilities built

  • Backed by local and diaspora leadership

Your support helps us grow more food, create more jobs, and build a more food-secure future for our people.

More than half of Sierra Leone’s population faces food insecurity. Rural farmers often lack the necessary tools, training, and infrastructure to thrive.

At Kakaluihun Farmers Development Association (KaFDA), we’re not just growing rice—we’re growing hope, jobs, and sustainable futures.

KaFDA is bridging this gap by revitalizing neglected swamp lands and equipping youth and women with farming jobs and resources.
